The Carson City Schools Foundation is honored to provide multiple grant opportunities to support Students and School District Personnel. For more information on these and to apply please follow the links below.
Important Grant Information:
- Awardees will have until the announced completion date to implement their projects.
- All funds must be spent by the announced completion date.
- Any funds not spent by the completion date will revert back to the Foundation.
- Awards for school/department/grade level grants will be placed in a Carson City School District account. The CCSD Grants Department will assist the awardees with all purchasing and expenditures of these grant funds.
- Student aid grants are accepted at any time throughout the school year. All other grants should be submitted withing the designated filing periods. Any exceptions to this must be submitted in writing to the Foundation Board, or a presentation to the Board at a monthly meeting.
- The period of time for funding department or school grants for on-going programs or multi-year project will be determined at the time of the award. Therefore, the site can plan future budgeting for the program.
- Department/school grants may not be used for travel (hotel, airfare, food reimbursement, etc..) for students or clubs.
- The Foundation is willing to process contributions from individual, school and community donors for student and CCSD school projects or needs.
- Awardees are required to share the results of their work via pictures, videos, and/or reports with the Carson City Schools Foundation. Some or all of these items may be used in press releases and uploaded to the Foundation’s website.
Mini-Grants:
The Foundation provides teachers and staff with mini-grants of up to $300 each for creative projects aligned with the District’s Strategic Plan, Empower Carson City, 2022.

Student Financial Aid Assistance:
The Foundation is pleased to support students with grants of up to $100 to be used towards fees and expenses related to sports and other school activities.
Requests must be submitted by the student’s advisor or coach, and are considered on an ongoing basis when the Foundation Board meets on the second Thursday of each month.

Department/School/Grade Level Grants:
General information about Department/School/Grade Level Grants: Grants are up to $2,000 each and are awarded to a school, department, or group of teachers/staff currently employed by the Carson City School District.Purpose: To provide funding for a school, department, or group of teachers/staff to implement an innovative project aligned to specific strategies within Empower Carson City, 2022, the District’s strategic plan.
